The AfterLife

Two days ago I started reading this book entitled "The Aftrlife" by Gary Soto. Alissa was really the one that got me interested in this modern day book about a Hispanic tennager that is murdered one Friday night in the bathroom as he was preparing for his date. Instead of dying and going to either Heaven or hell, he was simply a spirit that existed but was invisble to any force in the earthly world. This book taught me compassion and how to look at life in a cosmopolitan view. Even after his death, the young boy still found things to be happy about. He felt no anger inside for his killer and was for the first time in his life free. This book also was another object used to remind all of us that life is SHORT. We could wake up thinking we have our whole life ahead of us and the next thing you know we are faced with our own death. Also, keep your family and friends close because even when you die you will be thankful for the TRUE relationships you were able to have while living on Earth. This was a great book, next I will be reading "The Other Boleyn Girl". I loved the movie and should have read the book first but Im sure itll still be amazing.
